Joint Operation; Wilmington Man Arrested


On Thursday March 8th 2018 while in the course of a joint operation Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents, assisted by the North Carolina SBI, and detectives from New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Rashiem Darnell Mooring, age 25 of 486 Grove Court Wilmington, NC.

Mooring was entered wanted for two counts of attempted first degree murder, one count of 1st degree burglary, one count of attempted robbery with a firearm/dangerous weapon, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a firearm/dangerous weapon.

New Hanover authorities said the incident occurred this past Christmas Eve and Mooring fled the Wilmington area shortly after. Mooring was apprehended while at work in the parking lot of Cloverleaf Cold Storage located in Sanford. It’s believed that Mooring fled Wilmington and had began living in Fayetteville, NC.

Mooring was taken into custody by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and transported back to Wilmington NC to be processed for the above mentioned charges. Mooring is currently being held under a $2,000,000.00 secured bond in the New Hanover County Detention Center.
