Sanford Man Arrested For Felony Possession of a Firearm

On 12-3-2018 Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Agents arrested Antwan Jerome Mitchell, 40 years old of 101 McGill Street, Sanford NC for possession of firearm by felon and possession of a concealed weapon. Mitchell also had several orders for arrest from Cumberland County for drug violations. Mitchell was jailed under a $45,000.00 secured bond.

Agents were called to assist North Carolina Highway Patrol after a vehicle stop was conducted for a speeding violation. Troopers located several warrants for arrest for Mitchell and a search pursuant to the arrest led to the discovery of a firearm in the motor vehicle. Mitchell was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the arrest.
