Ah...Disregard My Last Text Bruh

Thursday July 18, 2019, at approximately 3pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Vernon Clayton McCauley, age 39, of 236 Barbecue Church Road, Sanford.

McCauley apparently mis-entered a phone number when texting, and unintentionally sent a text to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agent requesting interest in buying dosages of Suboxone. The agent that received the request, replied numerous times asking questions to strengthen the validity of the text. The questions asked, lead agents to the parking lot of Medicine Park pharmacy located at 100 Park Avenue, Sanford.

Agents identified Vernon McCauley, and were able to pinpoint that McCauley was indeed the individual requesting the agent’s interest in purchasing the then filled prescription before moving in to make the arrest. Agents seized 21 dosage units of suboxone and transported McCauley to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

McCauley was processed and charged with one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a schedule III controlled substance. Vernon McCauley was jailed under a $5,000.00 secured bond.
