Second Arrest Made Following Chase & Injured Deputy

Wednesday July 17, 2019, at approximately 4:23 pm Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Elizabeth Raven Murphy, age 34 of 2624 Westchester Drive, Fayetteville.

Murphy is one of the occupants from Sunday night’s vehicle chase that ended with a Lee County deputy seriously injured in a vehicle accident. When stopped by Sanford uniform Police officers Murphy fled from the scene escaping apprehension. It was discovered that Elizabeth Raven Murphy had two outstanding warrants for arrest. Murphy was found and arrested on Monday by Sanford Police Officers for the outstanding warrants and was found by the same officers to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Murphy was also charged with resist obstruct and delay by Sanford uniform Police Officers. Once in the custody of the Lee County Jail Murphy was found to have a total of 17 Oxycodone pills, 6 Hydrocodone pills packaged in a clear plastic bag hidden in her underwear. Murphy was under the influence of an impairing substance and was combative which made it impossible to process her 
safely until today. 

Murphy was processed and charged for one count of trafficking opium/heroin, and one count of possession of a controlled substance in a confinement facility/jail. Murphy was jailed under a $100,000.00 secured bond.
