Lillington Man Arrested in Lidl Parking Lot With Drugs

August 12, 2019, at approximately 8pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents assisted North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper A. Knight with a traffic stop on NC highway 87 South, in the Lidl grocery store parking lot located at 3209 NC Highway 87.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Trooper A. Knight stated that he had observed an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from the interior of vehicle. Trooper Knight conducted a search of the vehicle that ultimately lead to the arrest of Barret Denzel Marsh, age 32, of 264 C P Stewart Road, Lillington.

During the course of the search Trooper Knight  located a purple in color prescription pill bottle that Marsh had attempted to hide by having his wife Dena Marsh, conceal on her body. The contents of the bottle revealed four clear plastic bags  containing 4.4 grams of both powder form and crack form cocaine, one clear plastic bag containing approximately one gram of “MOLLY” MDMA. Trooper Knight also located two clear plastic bags containing approximately 5 grams of marijuana in the center console of the vehicle, and two sets of digital scales.

Trooper Knight requested assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and an agent was dispatched. An agent arrived on scene and transported Marsh to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Marsh was processed and charged with one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver MDMA, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of storing and selling a controlled substance, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Marsh was jailed under a $35,000.00 secured bond.
