Traffic Stop At Walmart Nets One Pound of Weed

On Wednesday, December 25th, 2019, at approximately 11:00pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents were called to assist Lee County uniform patrol deputies with a traffic stop in the parking lot of Walmart Super Center located at 3310 Hwy 87 South.

Deputies had initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle regulatory infraction where the tag displayed on the vehicle in question was fictitious. Upon approaching the vehicle, and while speaking with the operator Rahyeem Devonne Patterson about the fictitious tag, deputies observed of an open container of alcohol in the middle console cup holder. Upon further investigation, deputies observed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle lead deputies to the seizure of approximately one pound of marijuana. 

Agents took both the operator Rahyeem Devonne Patterson and passenger Charles Alton Patterson Jr. into custody and transported both to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. 

Rahyeem Devonne Patterson was processed and charged with, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle used to store and sell an illegal controlled substance, one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of possession of an open container of alcohol in the passenger are of a vehicle. 

Charles Alton Patterson Jr. was processed and charged with, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle used to store and sell an illegal controlled substance, one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Rahyeem Devonne Patterson was jailed under a $15,000.00 secured bond and Charles Alton Patterson Jr. was released under a $15,000.00 unsecured bond.
