Traffic Stop Nets Drugs & Stolen Firearm


On Monday night, December 23, 2019, at approximately 11:00pm, Lee County Sheriff’s Narcotics agents assisted Lee County uniform deputies with a traffic stop. Lee County Sheriff’s Office uniform deputies had initiated a traffic stop on Rosser road, for suspicion of DWI. While in the process of the stop, deputies learned that the operator, Regis Leon Lindsey had an active warrant for arrest for failure to appear. Deputies took Lindsey into custody, and searched the vehicle Lindsey was operating. A search of the vehicle resulted in locating a stolen firearm, and approximately 30 grams of marijuana.

Agents transported Regis Leon Lindsey to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office where Lindsey was processed and charged. Agents charged Lindsey with one count of felony possession of a stolen firearm, one count of felony maintaining a vehicle used to store and sell an illegal controlled substance, one count of possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of misdemeanor failure to appear.

Lindsey was jailed under a $17,000.00.
