On Tuesday March 8, 2016 Lee County Narcotics Agents
arrested Donovan Jermaine Spinks, age 18 of 951 Minter School Road, Sanford.
Agents had warrants on Spinks for possession of a stolen firearm, selling a
firearm without a permit, possession with the intent to sell and deliver
Marijuana, sell and deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling place for
the storage and sale of an illegal controlled substance.
The gun was entered stolen in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Agents
located Spinks in the front yard of his residence and attempted to take Spinks
into custody, upon making contact with agents Spinks fled leading agents on a
short foot chase. Once in the custody agents discovered Spinks was in possession
of a book bag and located in the bag agents found of 82 grams of Marijuana and
a firearm. After a quick query agents were able to determine that the firearm
that Spinks was in possession of at the time of the arrest was also stolen and
entered as a stolen in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) by the
Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.
Spinks was charged with a second count of
possession of a stolen firearm, possession with the intent to sell and deliver
Marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling place used for the storage and sell of
an illegal controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia,
and resisting a public officer. Spinks was jailed under a $50,000.00 secured
bond.
