"Shopping With The Sheriff" - A Great Success!

The cold and wind didn't keep our Sheriff and his staff from Christmas shopping on Saturday. Nor did the weather keep the families that were selected to be part of the First Annual "Shopping With the Sheriff" program from showing up.

On Saturday, four children and their parents met with the Sheriff and his staff, where they were given the chance to purchase gifts for themselves or their families.

"This will provide a positive Christmas experience for these children and their families" said Sheriff Carter. "We all have so much to be thankful for and it's the right thing to do share our blessings."

The Sheriff and his staff would personally like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their contributions: Wal-Mart, Attorney Richard Hager, Attorney Fred Webb, Register of Deeds employees and The Lee County Probation Office.
