Busy Week for Drug Agents



On 1-19-2010, members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and members of the Sanford Police Departments Tactical Narcotics Team and Selective Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 1209 Freeman Drive, Sanford, as part of a joint investigation. As a result of the investigation, agents seized approximately 215 grams of Marijuana, a .45 caliber handgun and $1460.00 in cash. Agents arrested Charlie Kenard Bland, 45, of the home and charged him with maintaining a dwelling to store drugs. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $1000.00 secured bond. A second suspect is being sought in connection with the case.

On 1-20-2010, members of the Lee County Sheriffs Office Narcotics Division and members of the Sanford Police Departments Tactical Narcotics Team and Selective Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 618 Matthews Street in Sanford. Agents seized 78 grams of Marijuana, 51 Dosage units of Percocet and 1 Dosage unit of Hydrocodone along with a stolen laptop computer. As a result of the investigation, agents arrested and charged Christopher Steven Burch, 28, of the home with Trafficking Opium, possession with intent to sell Marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to store drugs, possession of a schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $250,000.00 secured bond. Members of the Broadway Police Department also assisted with the investigation.
