Wednesday, August 7, 2019, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents arrested Kevin Christopher Pope, age 41, of 89 Worrells Lane, Lillington.
Pope was stopped for driving the wrong way on a dual lane road and suspicion for DWI. Once stopped, agents learned that Pope was operating a motor vehicle while his North Carolina driving license were suspended. Further investigation lead agents to the seizure of approximately one gram of crystal methamphetamine, two dosage units of Clonazepam prescription medication, one dosage unit of Buprenorphine prescription medication, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and one semi-automatic Walther brand firearm.
Agents transported Pope to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Pope was charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle the wrong way on a dual lane road, one count of driving while license revoked, one count of felony possession of methamphetamine, one count of felony maintaining a motor vehicle for the purpose of using and storing a controlled substance, one count of simple possession of schedule III controlled substance (Buprenorphine), one count of simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance Clonazepam, one count of misdemeanor possession drug paraphernalia, and one count of possession of a firearm by felon.
Kevin Christopher Pope was jailed under a $30,000.00 secured bond.
